 ARTSY’S AUGUST CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

IRIS FOLD FANCY DRESS CARD:  Remember when we were girls and wanted to be fashion designers and had so much fun designing evening dresses.  Well that is what fancy dress club is about, those fun old days designing. Ribbon, pattern and cut-out are provided.  You may design your gown like the instructor, if you wish.  But you are encouraged to have fun and design your gown your way. ALCOHOL INK TECHNIQUES:  Do you want some of these but have never used them?  Or maybe don't use them enough?  Attend this class and learn some amazing effects that you can create! Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Thursday, 8/3 from 1-3.   $25

NORTHWOODS SQUIRREL CARD:  Happy squirrels eat their leftover acorns among the spring flowers.  In class, you can choose to make the squirrels grey, red or brown.  Bring your basic kit to class. With Marsha on Friday, 8/4 from 10am-1pm $8

SERENDIPITY ALBUM:  Have you SEEN the new Serendipity Paper Collection from Blue Fern Studios???  OMG, it’s beautiful and Marsh will be walking you through the steps to create this beautiful “binder style” album that can be used for so many occasions.  You will use a specific paper and binder kit plus various other items as part of this class. Bring your basic kit to class.  With Marsha on Saturday, 8/5 from 10am – 4pm.  $60 total for the class. 

THE CHOCOLATE BOOK #2: If you missed the first session – no problem!  You can’t get the chocolate though, we ate it.  You can come to the second session and start fresh.  You will get everything you need to start the book.  Make it about chocolate – make it about coffee!  They’re both brown so it works!  Bring some favorite things to put in your book.  Look at your suggestion sheet for ideas (you can get this at the store).  Bring things to share – your fellow book creators will appreciate it.  Patsy will be sharing too!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Saturday, 8/5 from 10am-Noon.  $10

 

PLAY DAY AT ARTSY!!  Looking for a place to really spread out and work on that “UFO” (UnFinished Object)?  Or, wanna acquire some new toys at Artsy and then break into them immediately and be creative?  Do you want to be creative with other people?  Bring a friend and play in the Artsy Classroom!  Work on your own projects or let Patsy and Julia find fun things for you to do!  Plus, if you need something or run out, you’re already in the perfect space to get more!! It’s starting to catch on so plan now to come in on one or all five dates in August.  Bring your basic kit with you as supplies are not included.  Tuesday 8/8 from 10am-6pm, Friday 8/11 from 10am-6pm, Tuesday 8/22 from 10am-6pm, Thursday 8/24 from 10am-6pm and Tuesday 8/29 from 10am-6pm- FREE!

 

PRIMARY ELEMENTS MICA POWDERS TECHNIQUES:  Beautiful little powders glittering in a pot.  What happens when you open them and start playing?  Come find out!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Wednesday, 8/9 from 10-NOON.   $15

DISTRESS INK TECHNIQUES:  Learn some basic and not so basic things to do with these amazing inks!  Bring your basic kit to class. With Patsy on Thursday, 8/10 from 1-3pm.   $25

HEARTFELT CLASSIC WEDDING CARDS: Now is your chance to sample the newest collection from Heartfelt Creations. Think of it as try it before you buy it! Each month we will be offering a new class featuring their newest release which includes papers, stamps and dies. This month you will get a hands-on chance to use the new Classic Wedding collection.  Take home 3 beautiful handmade cards that you could use for a wedding, anniversary, or several other occasions. This collection also goes well with some of Heartfelt's other collections so the possibilities are endless! If you have a flower-shaping kit please bring that to class along with your basic kit.  With Leslie on Saturday, 8/12 from 12:30pm-3:30pm.  3/$14

H2O ASIAN THEMED CARDS:  Please join Patti in making four beautiful Asian themed cards using the gorgeous “Hanami Garden” paper collection from Kaiser Kraft.  We will also be using the Dogwood Flower stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations and coloring them with Twinkling H2O’s.  You will even learn to make a simple origami fold!  Please bring your basic kit to class and a favorite paint brush, if you have one. Also, if you have a flower shaping kit of any kind, please bring it.  Otherwise, paint brushes and flower shaping kit will be provided for you to use during class.  With Patti on Sunday, 8/13 from 12:30 to 2:30 pm.  4/$18  Limit 6

VINTAGE ELEGANT LADIES:  You will get to create 4 cards of vintage, romantic, froofie ladies.  Use them for any occasion or keep them for yourself.  They are part of The Stamp Doctor cut-aparts, so when you buy your own sheet, you can make 8 more cards!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Wednesday, 8/16 from 10am-Noon.  4/$15

PROJECT CROP!!  Need some “me” time to work on your projects? Plan now and get registered to crop ‘til you drop for this one evening event.  This is open to anyone who wants some fun and focused time to work on their own specific papercrafting project whether it be cards, scrapbooking or mixed media.  It will be like playtime on steroids ‘cuz DINNER is included and you can use many of the items in the Artsy classroom – like the Bigshot, stamps, and other tools. Please bring your basic kit with you.  With Julia on Friday, 8/18 from 5-Midnight.  $15

 

$1 CARDS:    It’s been a while since we’ve offered this and it’s always so fun and popular.  We’ll have 5-6 different cards to create and you’re welcome to make all that you like for $1 each!  Three times slots are available - 10:30-11:45am, 11:45am-1pm, and 1-2:15pm.  Call the store in advance to sign up for your favorite time.  Bring your basic kit as adhesives and tools will not be available.  Saturday, 8/19 between 10:30-2:15pm.  Reservations are required. $1 per card made

 

 

VINTAGE ROSE GARDEN KEEPSAKE BOX:  The 1st keepsake box Denise did was such a hit that she created another one!  This lovely paper from Couture Creations is just perfect for the small size box. With Denise on Sunday 8/20 from 12: 15-3:30pm.  $20

EMBROIDERY ON PAPER:  If you haven’t tried this cool technique on paper yet, you are missing the boat!  Punch a design, stitch the pattern and create a card.  It’s easier than it looks!  Plus, it’s the perfect little surprise element to add texture to your cards or scrapbook pages.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Wednesday, 8/23 from 10am-Noon $12

WINE ALBUM W/BOX:  What a perfect gift for that wine lover in your life….or make it for yourself to keep!  We will decorate this Graphic 45 box in a wine theme, and build an accordion style mini album that fits inside.  We will also make 4 wine charms to accompany this lovely album and box.  You will need to bring your basic kit plus Distress Ink colors Aged Mahogany and Black Soot, as well as your score board and beading pliers if you have them.  With Shana on Saturday, 8/26 from 10am-4pm.  $45  LIMIT of 8

 

G45 “YOUR CHOICE” 3D:  Was there a 3-D you really wanted to do but missed the class? This will get you excited!  If the paper is in stock, now is your chance. There are a lot of choices still available. Some of them included are Safari, Portrait of a Lady, Cityscapes, Nature's Sketchbook, Parisian Café, and possibly more! She is going to let YOU choose from the paper sets that are still available that day and will guide you through the fussy-cutting process per design. Julia is famous for this class and has quite a following! It’s a stunning technique that you’ll enjoy learning and utilizing for a long time.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Saturday 8/26 from 1-3.  $12 (or $8 for repeaters).

 

ART IMPRESSIONS WATERCOLOR: Have you struggled with watercoloring and just don’t know what to do??  Well, this is the perfect class for you!  With a few simple tips and tricks, Patsy will turn your frustration into pure FUN!!!  To sweeten the deal, a stamp set is INCLUDED!!  Bring your basic kit.  With Patsy on Sunday 8/27 from 12:30-2:30pm.   $18

 

 

LAYERS OF COLOR CLUB – HYDRANGEA CARDS:  The Hero Arts stamp layering set of the month is the gorgeous Hydrangea! This one looks so intricate, but is actually quite simple to use once you learn a few tricks.  Julia will be teaching you a few during this class and you might even get a few bonus techniques tossed into it as well.   PLUS, the stamp set is yours to keep! With Julia on Wednesday, 8/30 from 2-4:30pm.  $26 – includes stamp set

 

SCRAPPY CARDS:  Are your paper scraps piling up?  Sign up for this class and let us show you how to make 5 cards using nothing but scraps!  You'll be surprised how far your extra little pieces of scrap paper can go and still look great!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Thursday, 8/31 from 6-8pm.  5/$12

 

CLASS POLICIES

***Classes start promptly at the time listed.  Please have your lovely buns in the seat and be ready to go!    Showing up late is very disruptive to the class that is already in progress.  Plan ahead for traffic or other things that might slow you down! 

If you are more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to get into another class.  If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will forfeit your class fee. 

Classes must be paid for at the time of registration.  You are not considered registered unless a class is paid for which could affect your seat in those classes with student limits.  You may pay with cash, check or use a credit card with a $2 handling fee.  You may register over the phone and mail in a check or give us a credit card number. 

We also assume you're taking a class to enjoy a break for a few hours and learn some cool stuff without interruptions.  That said, we will now begin each class by asking you to turn off your cell phones or silence them during class.  This will enhance everyone's learnin' and enjoyment of the class at hand.
