ARTSY’S AUGUST CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

PLAY DAY AT ARTSY: These
days at Artsy have been a true hit and the feedback has been great! FREE play days in your Happy Place! Can’t get better than that. So, if you’re looking for a place to really
spread out and work on that “UFO” (UnFinished Object) or
if you wanna acquire some new toys at Artsy and then break into them
immediately and be creative, then this time is for you! Do you want to be creative with other
people? Bring a friend and play in the
Artsy Classroom. Play Days have caught
on in the last few months so plan now to come in on one or all five dates in August
from 10am-5pm each day. The store is in
Summer Hours mode and now open until 6pm to allow you time to shop afterwards,
but you will need to wrap everything up by closing time. Bring your basic kit with you as supplies are
not included. Thursday 8/1, Wednesday 8/7, Tuesday 8/13, Friday 8/23, or Tuesday
8/27 from 10am-5pm each day. FREE!
MIXED MEDIA MASTERPIECES: Are you interested in learning how to make a mixed
media canvas? Julia is cleaning out her
crafty hoard and bringing it to class. You choose the size canvas you would
like to make, and Julia will teach you how to put it together. Things to bring
class would be a photo or any memorabilia that you would like to incorporate
into your design. Don’t have that? No worries, she will have plenty for you to
choose from. This is an all-day class, the size canvas you choose will
determine how long it takes to create.
Canvas sizes available: 8x10 $30, 12x12 $35, 11x14 $40, 8x20 $45. Please indicate which size you would like
when registering for the class. Bring

SANTORINI BOX & ALBUM: Shana has returned with this adorable box and
album. Bring your basic kit to class.

ALCOHOL INKS TECHNIQUES – LEVEL 1: This
Level 1 class introduces Alcohol Inks to students that are new to the medium or
need a refresher. We will explain the color wheel/ color theory, how to
manipulate and safely apply alcohol inks, and complete a small project on a
variety of surfaces. You will gain an understanding of how this vibrant fluid
ink works, how colors combine, and have a fun time exploring the foundations of
what you and the medium are capable of creating. *This Level 1 class is a
prerequisite for all our other Alcohol Ink classes*. With Randy & Teresa Redmond-Ott on
Saturday, 8/3 from 10am-1pm. $45, all
supplies included.
STEAMPUNK
TRAIN 3D: Bring your basic kit to class. With Julia on Saturday, 8/3 from
1:30-4:30pm. $18

ocean theme using several fun techniques.

MAGNETIC SHADOW BOX - FALL: The August
Magnetic Shadowbox has a focus on Fall. Please
bring your basic tool kit, pop-dots and glue dots along. Patsy has magnetic
shadow boxes available at an additional cost if this is your first seasonal
shadow box class. With Marsha on Thursday, 8/8 from 12:30-3:30pm. $22 (+ cost of shadowbox if needed).
DISTRESS INK TECHNIQUES: Distress Ink techniques for beginners or other fun
people. Hehehe!! Learn some basic and not so basic things to do with
these amazing inks! Bring your basic kit
to class. With Patsy on Friday, 8/9 from 6-8pm. $35
LOST
IN PARADISE FOLIO: Features G45’s new collection. Bring your basic kit to class. With Sue R on Saturday, 8/10 from 10:30am-2pm. $22
CLEAN
& SIMPLE SENTIMENT CARDS: Featuring Pinkfresh Studio’s Bold Scripted
stamp set, participants in this class will learn how to create cards using the
beautiful, shimmery "Twinkling H2O’s” watercolor line along with a unique
textured technique for even more “Wow” factor.
Heat embossing, vibrant metallic foils & alcohol inks, die-cutting
and dry embossing will be showcased too.
Students will make and take home two A7 (5x7”) cards and one A2
(4.25x5.5”) card in addition to new card making techniques to create more of
this fun style at home. Bring your Basic
Kit to class. With Teresa Redmond-Ott on
Sunday, 8/11 from 1-3pm. $21, includes
the stamp set and materials needed to complete these cards during class.
VINTAGE
LADIES CARDS: Do you see cut-aparts and wonder what to do
with them? This class will give you an
entire sheet from The Stamp Doctor. Then
we’ll use 2 of the to create beautiful cards.
Use your cards for lovely occasions or throw a little sass on the
inside! Bring you basic kit to class.

POP-UP
CARDS: Bring your basic kit to class. With Susan M on Saturday, 8/17 from
10:30-1pm. $22
ALCOHOL INKS - LEVEL 2* EASY SEA OR LANDSCAPE (*PREREQUISITE ALCOHOL INKS - LEVEL 1) This
intermediate class further explores more techniques that take your Alcohol ink
art to another level of sophistication.
Once you’ve completed the Level 1 class*, which is a pre-requisite for
this Level 2 class, your working knowledge of this medium is ready for an upgrade. You will learn more refined techniques using
art brushes and color choices for natural landscapes. Students will have at minimum one finished
project to take home. All supplies are
provided in this class. With Randy &
Teresa Redmond-Ott on Saturday, 8/17 from 1:30-4pm. $45
ROSABELLA CARDS: Or as I like
to call them - Throw a Doodah on it! Bring
your basic kit and buckle up! Don’t plan to share supplies with anyone - you
won’t have time. We’re going to create 8
cards. Then you get to take home the pad and doodah pack! Woohoo! If you are a slow cardmaker, you might leave
with 2 cards and 6 ideas. You MUST have
your cutter with you and scissors and patience. Bring LOTS of patience. And chocolate. With Patsy on Wednesday, 8/21 from 1-4pm.

EMBROIDERY ON PAPER:
If you haven’t tried this cool
technique on paper yet, you are missing the boat! Punch a design, stitch the pattern and create
a card. It’s easier than it looks! Plus, it’s the perfect little surprise
element to add texture to your cards or scrapbook pages. Bring your basic kit to class. With Patsy on Thursday, 8/22 from
10am-Noon. $8
LOVE NOTES ALBUM AND PIANO: This month Grace will teach you how to create this
incredible album featuring the Love Notes collection from Graphic 45 – including
a PIANO box that houses the album!! This
is a 3-day class that is divided up into two parts – the album and the
piano box. The cost to do the book will
be $75 (2-day class) and the cost to do the piano separately on 1 day, will be
$25. It’s amazing and beyond words…you won’t be disappointed! Bring your basic kit to class. With Grace on
Saturday, 8/24 from 9am-5pm AND on Sunday, 8/25 from 9am-4pm. $75 for
the album. The Love Notes Piano class is
with Grace on Saturday, 8/31 from 9am-5pm, $25
LAWN
FAWN CARDS: 3 interactive cards, including the newest
die, center picture window card. Bring your basic kit to class. With Julia on Thursday, 8/29 from
10am-1:30pm. $24
G45 LOST IN PARADISE 3D: Bring your basic kit to class. With Julia on Friday, 8/30 from
10am-1:30pm. $18
CELESTIAL
CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SEASON ALCOHOL INK CARD: Jumpstart the busy Holiday Season by creating this stunning Winter or
Christmas card in August! Your lucky
recipients may want to frame this 5”x7” piece, it is so lovely in person (view
in store!). In addition to learning this
beautiful Celestial technique using
vibrant Alcohol Inks, participants will also learn how to create a unique frame
by combining 2 different die cuts made to look like one die cut to frame this
night sky. Materials you may not have
considered using will be featured. All
supplies provided; however, students are advised to bring their Basic Kit and
their own die-cutting machine & plates* for time-sake and for ease in
replicating this technique at home. (*for A7 / 5x7 sized card). With Teresa on
Saturday, 8/24 from 1-4pm. $20

POLICIES
***Classes
start promptly at the time listed.
Please have your lovely buns in the seat and be ready to go! Showing up late is very disruptive to the
class that is already in progress. Plan
ahead for traffic or other things that might slow you down!
If
you are more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to get into another
class. If you are more than 15 minutes
late, you will forfeit your class fee.
Classes
must be paid for at the time of registration.
You are not considered registered unless a class is paid for which could
affect your seat in those classes with student limits. You may pay with cash, check or use a credit
card with a $2 handling fee. You may
register over the phone and mail in a check or give us a credit card
number.
We
also assume you're taking a class to enjoy a break for a few hours and learn
some cool stuff without interruptions.
That said, we will now begin each class by asking you to turn off your
cell phones or silence them during class.
This will enhance everyone's learnin' and enjoyment of the class at
hand.
