Springtime is getting oh so close, isn't it?!?! We just can't wait and have some exciting classes lined up including a SUPER FUN EVENT to share with you.  Save the dates of March 12 & 13 cuz if you're a Lost Coast Design fan you're gonna want to block out that whole weekend!! It's a Card-Making Extravaganza featuring LCD - with eight of Artsy's awesome instructors and nothing buy LCD stamps! MYSTERY CARDS:  What a peachy idea!!  Just like the name implies…it’s a real mystery and everyone will get to show off their individual creativity. You’ll start with card bases, choose from lots of paper pieces, stamps, inks, die cuts and doodahs to create 7 unique cards!  The mystery of not knowing what will be available on the day of class is what makes this one so exciting!!   Bring your basic kit to class. With Patsy on Tuesday, 3/1 from 6-8  OR on Saturday, 3/26 from 10:30-12:30.   7/$10

DISTRESS INK TECHNIQUES:  These magic pads can create a lot of diverse looks and Distress Inks are truly the “in” thing these days! Come in and learn at least 7 techniques and take home instruction tags for all 7.  Bring your basic kit to class.   With Patsy on Wednesday, 3/2 from 10-Noon.  $30

TAGS (& BLOCKS) IRISH:  This month’s set of tags will give you that “Wee Bit O’ the Irish” feeling while adorning your mantle, table, or shelf with a bright and cheery Spring look too!    Bring your basic kit to class.  With Grace on Thursday, 3/3 from 6-8    $15  (Be sure to tell the sales associate when you register if you’re a newbie to this class and need the blocks too – there is a one-time additional cost of $15 for the blocks that the tags attach to.)

EASTER TRADITIONS CARDS:  These beautiful holiday cards will make you smile throughout the entire class as they take you back to a simpler time in celebrating all that is Easter!  Bring your basic kit to class. With Marsha on Friday, 3/4 from 2-4   OR  Thursday, 3/10 from 10:30-12:30    4/$15

NORTHWOODS BUNNY CARD:  I’m tellin ya….this company just keeps bringin on the cuteness!!  I dare you to look at this one and NOT say ‘Awwwwww”. I dare you!  You’re guaranteed to have a hoppin’ good time.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Marsha on Saturday, 3/5 from 10:30-Noon    $8

PRIVATE CLASS on 3/5 from 10:30-1:30:  We were approached by the Gourd Society about holding a private class for some of their members to learn how to paint on gourds so we said, “Sure!! Happy to!”  So, we are.  Since this is a private class, you’re not able to attend this one (unless you’re part of this group!) but if you’d like to schedule your group of 6 or more for a private class with one of our instructors, please feel free to contact Patsy either by phone or in person at the store.  We’d love to accommodate your group at a special rate. 

G45 APRIL/MAY CALENDAR LAYOUTS:  For all of you scrapbookers out there…this is a gem of a class that is focused on calendar page layouts. This month we’re focusing on April and May pages.  It’s a unique idea and will certainly give your scrapbooks that little twist you’ve been looking for!  Bring your basic kit to class.   With Julia on Saturday 3/5 from 2:30-4:30   $25

 

SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING SCRAP JOURNAL MENTORING CLUB:  Group uses participants’ favorite materials and supplies -- your journal can be any size, shape, theme or color you want it to be. Techniques begin with outside covers, followed with inside paper architecture, pretty journal and feature page designs.  Each session will include individual mentoring, design and assembly assistance from Cherri.  Please note:  ‘sisters’ provide all of their own supplies.  Fee payable directly to instructor $21 at first and fourth sessions.  Please see samples at the store and talk to Cherri before signing up for more detailed information; her number is available from Artsy. UHU glue sticks required!  With Cherri on Sunday 2 afternoon sessions remaining at $7 each on March 6 & 20 from 12:30 - 3:00pm.  PLEASE NOTE: the original 3/13 date in March changed to March 6.  

 

ST PAT’S BOX CARD:  Who can resist this adorable Leprechaun (woof!)?!?!?  Even if you’ve learned this box card technique in the past, you’ll want to join in this ‘Luck-O-The-Irish’ fun!  And yes….you CAN mail it!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Diane on Sunday, 3/6 from 1-3    $10

TEENY, TINY CARDS:  We’re going to ink and die cut and stamp and create these cute little cards.  To those of you skeptics out there, don’t let the size fool you!  Big impact comes out of small things and we know Patsy has a loyal following with this fun class.  Don’t wait any longer to see what you’ve been missing – get registered today!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Wednesday, 3/9 from 10-Noon    $7

WHITE OUT CARDS:  What a novel idea…and one that we often forget about!  Who would have thought that white-on-white-on-white could look so elegant?? Yet so fun??  Come in and learn all about tone-on-tone styles to give your cards that extra special twist.   Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Friday, 3/11 from 10-Noon OR on Tuesday, 3/29 from 6-8.    4/$10

UPDATE:  Card-Making Extravaganza featuring LOST COAST DESIGN STAMPS March 12th and 13th!!! ARTSY is bringing in a new trunk show from LOST COAST DESIGNS with over 300 fabulous stamps!  To help kick off this exciting event, eight of our instructors are participating in this card-making extravaganza weekend by sharing their unique card-making talents with you in 4 different classes over two days.  Each class will feature different stamps from Lost Coast Designs on 4 card designs for $15 per class.  There will be prize drawings during each class and you’ll find some incredible specials throughout the store. With each class you register for during this Extravaganza, you will receive the opportunity to purchase any of the specific stamps used in THAT class at a 15% discount (1-4 stamps)! ALCOHOL INK TECHNIQUES:  Little tiny bottles of ink can make fabulous backgrounds when you learn how to use them.  Bring your basic kit to class.    With Patsy on Wednesday, 3/16 from 10-Noon.  $30 (...oh, and please excuse our moment of insanity with the 2 different tags below!  We just wanted to see if you were paying attention ;-) The class is really on the 16th from 10am - Noon.)

NORTHWOODS CARDINAL CARD:  Back by popular demand! PURPLE BLOOMS! CARDS:  Totally filled with Springtime colors, these cheery floral-themed cards will teach you several quick - yet fancy - tricks and ideas guaranteed to bring you out of your cabin fever blues.   Bring your basic kit with you to class.  With Diane on Friday, 3/18 from 1-4     5/$18

GELLI PLATE PRINTING 101 TAGS:  This class was also so popular that Julia is doing it again!  You’re just gonna have to see these samples in person – and then sign up to learn how to do this.  Julia will teach you this awesome inking technique using a 3” x 5”Gelli Plate – that you get to KEEP!  It’s an easy, fun and highly addictive technique that ANY papercrafter or scrapbooker can use. It’s also perfect for your Art Journals!  All YOU need to bring with you to class is your brayer, everything else will be provided.  If you don’t have a brayer yet, you can purchase one at the store.  With Julia on Saturday 3/19 from 10:30-1   $30

EASTER FUN CARDS:  These festive, fun and bright Easter cards will acquaint (or re-acquaint) you with several fun techniques and card-making tools of the trade!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Denise on Saturday, 3/19 from 2-4    4/$18

EMBROIDERY ON PAPER:  Punch a design, stitch the pattern and create a card.  It’s easier than it looks!  Plus, it’s the perfect little surprise element to add texture to your cards or scrapbook pages.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Tuesday, 3/22 from 6-8  OR  on Wednesday, 3/23 from 10-Noon  $12

GERMAN SCRAP CARDS & TAGS: "German Scrap" is a traditional foiled paper cut into various shapes -- such as vintage lace, crowns, wings, keys, hinges, et cetera. It was not self-adhesive and had to be glued on as ephemera. It is also known as Dresden Scrap or Dresden Paper.  It has a Victorian era connection and was used prior to home die cut machines.  Using Prima "Color Bloom" spray mists, we will create the foiled-like paper and then cut into die shapes.  Class includes two cards and two tags.  The tags can be recut and mounted into cards at home if you like.  Also included are four envelopes made using the Envelope Punch Board and quality text-weight paper.  Scotch tacky (white) glue with fine point applicator tip is required and you can purchase these up in the store that day if you don’t have one already.  Students will take home a few extra pieces of German Scrap for future projects.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Cherri on Thursday, 3/24 from 2-4:30.  4/$14

 “ME” TIME – OPEN STUDIO/CLASSROOM FUN!  You’ve asked again so we’re delivering!!!  We’re opening up the classroom to anyone who wants a little ‘me’ time or break from the day to create and play with anything we have in the classroom.  Think of it as kind of like your own little personal demo or practice session.  Want to try using the Big Shot with dies or embossing folders for the first time or get a little more practice in?  Or use a Cutterpillar? Or try out a few stencils, stamps, inks, sprays, etc?  This is your chance.  Please feel free to come by during the designated hours and hang out creating whatever makes you smile! But PLEASE bring your basic kit with you to have on hand though.   Open hours this month are on Friday, 3/25 anytime between 2-4pm.   FREE!

STRIP-PIECING CARDS:   It’s back again!!!  Buy 3 classes in March and get THIS special strip-piecing card class FREE!!!  What a great technique to learn too – not to mention a fabulous way to use up all those little strips of random paper you might have laying around your studio.  You won’t want to miss this one so to recap….buy ANY 3 classes in the month of March and you get to play with Patsy for FREE at this class.  Or, you can pay for this class independently too.   BRING your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Wednesday, 3/30 from 6-8pm.  6/$10 or FREE with purchase of 3 March classes!!
