October Classes

ARTSY’S OCTOBER CLASS DESCRIPTIONS (Remember, you receive a 10% Discount on your Entire Regular-Price Purchase day of class!!)  

PLAY DAY AT ARTSY:  These days at Artsy have been a true hit and the feedback has been great!  FREE play days in your Happy Place!  Can’t get better than that.  So, if you’re looking for a place to really spread out and work on that “UFO” (UnFinished Object) or if you wanna acquire some new toys at Artsy and then break into them immediately and be creative, then this time is for you!  Do you want to be creative with other people?  Bring a friend and play in the Artsy Classroom.  Play Days have caught on in the last few months so plan now to come in on one or all five dates in October from 10am-5pm each day.  Bring your basic kit with you as supplies are not included.  Tuesday 10/1, Tuesday 10/8, Wednesday 10/16, Friday 10/25, or Wednesday 10/30 from 10am-5pm each day.   FREE!

TIM HOLTZ HAUNTED MANOR HOUSE: This spooky haunted house is a great addition to your Halloween decor. It is so much fun to construct this house using a die set from Tim Holtz.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Tuesday, 10/2 from 9am-2:30pm OR on Saturday, 10/5 from 9am-2pm. $30

ART IMPRESSIONS DOORWAYS:  Learn all about AI watercolor techniques. Bring you basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Thursday, 10/3 from 10am-Noon.  $26  - includes the stamp set

MAD HATTER’S HAT (ADVANCED CLASS): Join Grace for this unique class that partners with the Alice in Wonderland themed album she offered last month.  This hat-shaped box houses that album or you can use it for other fun Halloween storage of candy, etc.  It is an advanced class and is not recommended for beginners.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Grace on Saturday, 10/5 from 9am-5pm.  $40

MASTERBOARD CARDS:  We are going to stamp, ink, spray, stencil and whatever it takes to create the master board.  Then we’re going to cut up the board to create cards.  Oh, goodie! Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Thursday, 10/10 from  10am-Noon.  $15

ALCOHOL INKS – LEVEL 2* ADVANCED TECHNIQUES (*PRE-REQUISITE ALCOHOL INKS – LEVEL 1):  This intermediate class further explores more techniques that take your Alcohol ink art to another level of sophistication.  Once you’ve completed the Level 1 class*, which is a pre-requisite for this Level 2 class, your working knowledge of this medium is ready for an upgrade.  You will learn more refined techniques using art brushes and color choices for natural landscapes.  Students will have at minimum one finished project to take home.  All supplies are provided in this class.  With Randy & Teresa Redmond-Ott on Saturday, 10/12 from 1-4pm.  $45

CANCER CARDS:  Have you been touched by cancer?  Do you know someone who is going through cancer now?  Stop in the store and make cards with us.  They will be by donation with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.  If you don't want to make cards you might want to just stop in and be around other amazing women!  Bring your basic kit to class .  With Patsy on Sunday, 10/13 from 12:30-3:30pm. By Donation.

PAPER BAG BOOK:  So we’re starting with a paper bag. A what?  A paper pag - seriously.  Then we’re going to make it into the cutest note holder ever.  You get to select your favorite paper for the project.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Thursday, 10/17 from 10am-Noon.  $10

LAWN FAWN HALLOWEEN CARDS:  We will be making Halloween themed cards using super cute Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Thursday, 10/17 from 10:30m-1:30pm.  $24

SEASONAL POP-UP CARDS:  Welcome the Fall and Winter Holiday season with these two wonderful pop-up greetings!  Sure to be a fun class.  Susan has even added an original “extra” to this card design REQUIRED SUPPLIES:  Basic stamp kit, x-acto knife and mat, scor-tool, Star Dust Stickles and Distress Inks in the following colors if you have them - Vintage Photo, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Victorian Velvet, Shabby Shutter, Faded Jeans, Milled Lavender,  Wilted Violet and Peeled Paint. Bring your basic kit to class.  With Susan M on Saturday, 10/19 from 10am-1pm.  $22

ALCOHOL INKS TECHNIQUES – LEVEL 1:  This Level 1 class introduces Alcohol Inks to students that are new to the medium or need a refresher. We will explain the color wheel/ color theory, how to manipulate and safely apply alcohol inks, and complete a small project on a variety of surfaces. You will gain an understanding of how this vibrant fluid ink works, how colors combine, and have a fun time exploring the foundations of what you and the medium are capable of creating. *This Level 1 class is a prerequisite for all our other Alcohol Ink classes*.  With Randy & Teresa Redmond-Ott on Saturday, 10/19 from 1-4pm.  $45, all supplies included.

FALL CARDS:  Golds, oranges, rusts and browns all scream FALL!  Time to create some fall cards.  We’ll make 3 and you can take some cut-a-parts home with you so you can make more. Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Sunday, 10/20 from 12:30-2:30pm.  $20

PAN PASTEL CARDS:  Two of the most fun things to do - stamp and color!  Those two basic techniques create just lovely cards with these incredible pastels. Bring your basic kit to class.  With Sue N on Tuesday, 10/22 from 10:30am-1pm. $18.

LAWN FAWN MAKE-UP CLASS:  If you need some help with a Lawn Fawn card or have a kit that isn't finished, Julia will be here to help from 10:30 to noon. Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Wednesday, 10/23 from 10:30am-Noon.  FREE.

EMBROIDERY ON PAPER:  If you haven’t tried this cool technique on paper yet, you are missing the boat!  Punch a design, stitch the pattern and create a card.  It’s easier than it looks!  Plus, it’s the perfect little surprise element to add texture to your cards or scrapbook pages.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Friday, 6/21 from 10am-Noon.  $7

MAGNETIC SHADOW BOX - NOVEMBER:  Please bring your basic tool kit, pop-dots and glue dots along. Patsy has magnetic shadow boxes available at an additional cost if this is your first seasonal shadow box class. With Marsha on Thursday, 10/24 from 12:30-3:30pm.  $22 (+ cost of shadowbox if needed). 

OXIDE LANDSCAPE: The Ranger Distress Oxide Inks create vibrant backgrounds. Throw on a mask, a stencil or a die and you get a fabulous card!  These work so well for cards for gentleman.  Or even for cards for just plain guys. LOL!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Sue N on Tuesday, 10/29 from 10:30-1pm.  $18

CLASS POLICIES

***Classes start promptly at the time listed.  Please have your lovely buns in the seat and be ready to go!    Showing up late is very disruptive to the class that is already in progress.  Plan ahead for traffic or other things that might slow you down! 

If you are more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to get into another class.  If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will forfeit your class fee. 

Classes must be paid for at the time of registration.  You are not considered registered unless a class is paid for which could affect your seat in those classes with student limits.  You may pay with cash, check or use a credit card with a $2 handling fee.  You may register over the phone and mail in a check or give us a credit card number. 

We also assume you're taking a class to enjoy a break for a few hours and learn some cool stuff without interruptions.  That said, we will now begin each class by asking you to turn off your cell phones or silence them during class.  This will enhance everyone's learnin' and enjoyment of the class at hand.
