November Classes

ARTSY’S NOVEMBER CLASS DESCRIPTIONS (Remember, you receive a 10% Discount on your Entire Regular-Price Purchase day of class!! Woot Woot!!!)  

DISTRESS INK TECHNIQUES: Learn some basic and not so basic things to do with these amazing inks!  Bring your basic kit to class. With Patsy on Thursday, 11/1 from 2-4pm.   $25

PLAY DAY AT ARTSY:  These days at Artsy have been a true hit and the feedback has been great!  FREE play days in your Happy Place!  Can’t get better than that.  So, if you’re looking for a place to really spread out and work on that “UFO” (UnFinished Object)?  Or, wanna acquire some new toys at Artsy and then break into them immediately and be creative?  Do you want to be creative with other people?  Bring a friend and play in the Artsy Classroom.  Work on your own projects or let Patsy and Julia find fun things for you to do.  Plus, if you need something or run out, you’re already in the perfect space to get more. It’s starting to catch on so plan now to come in on one or all FIVE dates in November from 10am-5pm each day. Bring your basic kit with you as supplies are not included.  Tuesday 11/2, Thursday 11/8, Tuesday 11/13, Wednesday 11/21, and Thursday, 11/29.   FREE! 

GIDDY UP GIRLFRIEND:  Yee Haw!  Saddle Up and join Susan for a fun class creating 3 fabulous Western themed cards!  Different techniques, including  coloring faces, making unique embellishments and color matching will be explored. You’ll have a rootin' tootin’ good time!  REQUIRED SUPPLIES:  Basic kit, several small watercolor brushes and Distress inks in the following colors if you have them:  Wild Honey, Faded Jeans, Vintage Photo and Barn Red or Fired Brick.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Susan M on 11/3 from 10:30am-12:30pm.  3/$15

MIXED MEDIA MASTERPIECES: Are you interested in learning how to make a mixed media canvas?  Julia is cleaning out her crafty hoard and bringing it to class. You choose the size canvas you would like to make, and Julia will teach you how to put it together. Things to bring class would be a photo or any memorabilia that you would like to incorporate into your design. Don’t have that? No worries, she will have plenty for you to choose from. This is an all-day class, the size canvas you choose will determine how long it takes to create.  Canvas sizes available: 8x10 $30, 12x12 $35, 11x14 $40, 8x20 $45.  Please indicate which size you would like when registering for the class.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Saturday, 11/3 from 10:30am-3:30pm.    $30-$45, depending on the canvas size.

ART IMPRESSIONS WATERCOLOR CHAIR:  This card is made using Art Impressions watercolor stamps. Learn techniques as well as how to use the stamp positioner. Stamp set is NOT included in this class. Bring your basic kit.  With Pat on Sunday 11/4 from Noon-2pm.   $10

ALCOHOL INK TECHNIQUES:  Do you want some of these but have never used them?  Or maybe don't use them enough?  Attend this class and learn some amazing effects that you can create! Bring your basic kit to class. With Patsy on Wednesday, 11/6 from 6-8.   $25

CSU CARD GROUP:  This card making group from CSU has returned to Artsy for its monthly gathering.  They are a lovely group that is open to any of Artsy’s customers that wish to join them. They will be meeting at our store on the 1^st or 2^nd Wednesday of every month.  They create handmade cards to sell at various venues throughout the year.  The funds go towards scholarships for non-traditional students.  If you want to create but have enough cards lying around, consider joining this group or donating finished cards to them.  What a great cause!  Wednesday, 11/7 from 10am-Noon.  FREE, but bring your basic kit.

JUNK JOURNALING 1^ST GRADE:  This is a basic class for artists new to junk journaling and includes a sample book where you will learn to make tucks, pockets, folds, and envelopes. Bring your basic kit to class. With Sue R on Friday, 11/9 from 10:30am-1:30pm. $20

EMBROIDERY ON PAPER:  If you haven’t tried this cool technique on paper yet, you are missing the boat!  Punch a design, stitch the pattern and create a card.  It’s easier than it looks!  Plus, it’s the perfect little surprise element to add texture to your cards or scrapbook pages.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Friday, 11/9 from 6-8pm.  $8

PINK CHRISTMAS CLIPBOARD:  Gift, decoration or clipboard … you decide.  Cherri’s back with another clipboard. First, you’ll paint with Dylusions, then make a quilt with three Stamperia papers. Fundamental collaging is used to create this delightful and fun work of art. Products include 3-D and vintage gel mediums, wax, alcohol inks, and Sizzix’s new emboss and cut 3-D Impresslits.   Students bring standard tool box, PLUS pickled raspberry and your favorite dark brown distress ink pads with blending tool, UHU glue stick (required), white tacky glue with fine point tip, glue book (old magazine or catalogue), and 1” corner rounder punch (if you have). With Cherri on Saturday, 11/10 from 10am – 1pm.  $18

WHIMSICAL JOURNAL PAGES: These whimsical journal pages will delight and amuse!  This is the last of four sessions being offered, each being held on the 2^nd Saturday of the month August – November.  In each session students will complete one journal page; all supplies provided, just bring your standard tool box.  Take one class, or all four ... your choice.  The four pages are on display at the store.  Does not include journal book or cover design; journal is available at $12.99 less class discount. Different mixed media products and techniques will be used in each class. Students can make their pages any color them the like. Open to all skill levels.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Cherri on Saturday, 11/10 from 1-4pm.  $15 per session.

FALL CARDS:  As usual, you’ll learn some fun techniques with Denise in this one! Bring your basic kit to class.  With Denise on Sunday, 11/11 from 12:30-3pm.  4/$18

KAREN BURNISTSON POP-UP CARDS: We will make 2 Christmas pop up cards. Karen Burniston has created these awesome, easy to use dies. You will be amazed at how easily these cards come together. Bring your basic kit to class. With Julia on Sunday, 11/11 from 12:30-3pm.  2/ $18

GEL PRESS W/CARDS:  We are starting class early for some messy fun. Learn how to use your gel press in some fun creative ways. From the prints you make in class, we will put together a few cards too. Bring your gel press to class, any size will work. Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Thursday, 11/15  $25

 LAWN FAWN FALL CARDS:  We will make 3 interactive cards, including the new double- slider, which will hold a gift card. Lots of super cute critters to help us celebrate fall. Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on 11/15 from 1:30-4:30pm  3/$18

LAVENDER ALBUM:  This 6.5 x 6.5 album is constructed using Prima's Lavender Collection paper. The spine is covered in pink roses and is embellished with charms, chain and ribbon. Each page has a top-loading pocket. You will construct the album and embellish the pages in class. This album is an  excellent  choice for a Christmas present. Great album for displaying photos from a special event/occasion. Bring your basic kit to class. With Pat on Saturday, 11/17 from 10am – 4pm AND on Sunday, 11/18 from Noon-3pm.  $75

CHRISTMAS MAGNETIC SHADOW BOX:  Even though Christmas is more than a month away this magnetic shadow box truly captures the essence of the Season.   It will be ready to hang on you wall just in time for the holiday. Patsy still has magnetic shadow boxes available at an additional cost if this is your first seasonal shadow box class. Bring your basic kit to class. With Marsha on Saturday, 11/17 from Noon-3:30pm.  $20 (+ cost of shadowbox if needed)

SOLITUDE CARDS: These touching cards with soft winter shades give you a feeling of restful solitude.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Tuesday, 11/27 from 1-3pm.  3/$12

CLASS POLICIES

***Classes start promptly at the time listed.  Please have your lovely buns in the seat and be ready to go!    Showing up late is very disruptive to the class that is already in progress.  Plan ahead for traffic or other things that might slow you down! 

If you are more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to get into another class.  If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will forfeit your class fee. 

Classes must be paid for at the time of registration.  You are not considered registered unless a class is paid for which could affect your seat in those classes with student limits.  You may pay with cash, check or use a credit card with a $2 handling fee.  You may register over the phone and mail in a check or give us a credit card number. 

We also assume you're taking a class to enjoy a break for a few hours and learn some cool stuff without interruptions.  That said, we will now begin each class by asking you to turn off your cell phones or silence them during class.  This will enhance everyone's learnin' and enjoyment of the class at hand.
