ARTSY’S MAY CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

MOTHER’S DAY CARD:  An interactive card to create just in time for Mother’s Day.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Doug on Tuesday, 5/1 from 10am-Noon.  $10

GEL PRESS CARDS - CREATE & MAKE: We will be using a Gel Press to create prints in the first half of the class. In the second half the class we will use those prints to create some cards. You just need to bring your gel press and brayer with your basic kit. If you don’t have either the gel press or the brayer yet, you can purchase one at the store.  With Julia on Tuesday, 5/1 from 10am-3pm.  $25 + cost of Press.

 

PLAY DAY AT ARTSY:  Looking for a place to really spread out and work on that “UFO” (UnFinished Object)?  Or, wanna acquire some new toys at Artsy and then break into them immediately and be creative?  Do you want to be creative with other people?  Bring a friend and play in the Artsy Classroom!  Work on your own projects or let Patsy and Julia find fun things for you to do.  Plus, if you need something or run out, you’re already in the perfect space to get more. It’s starting to catch on so plan now to come in on one or all FIVE dates in May from 10am-6pm each day. Bring your basic kit with you as supplies are not included.  Thursday 5/3, Wednesday 5/9, Tuesday 5/15, Thursday 5/24, and Wednesday 5/30 - FREE! 

DISTRESS INK TECHNIQUES: Learn some basic and not so basic things to do with these amazing inks!  Bring your basic kit to class. With Patsy on Friday, 5/4 from 10:30am-12:30pm.   $25

G45 FAIRIE DUST ALBUM:  This is Part 2 of Grace’s amazing album class that offers several NEW ways to add pockets, hidden flaps, and oh so much more!  Even if you’ve taken a class with Grace in the past, you will want to take this one too and learn some new tricks with the help of a little fairy dust!  Bring your basic kit to class.  This is the 2^nd part of this class so you’ll have to check with the instructor about joining in or obtaining a kit if you didn’t take part 1.  With Grace on Saturday, 5/5 from 9am-4pm.  $75

SPRING IS IN THE AIR MAGNETIC SHADOW BOX:  Have you ever looked at a shadow box and wanted to decorate it, but wished it could easily be changed out for the new season or holiday?  Your wishes have come true! This new magnetic shadow box can be changed out any time you want to decorate for the new season or holiday.  Shana will be creating a new kit each month to decorate this versatile shadow box.  This month’s class will have a Spring Theme featuring Photoplay Paprika paper.  Bring your basic kit to class, ink colors Evergreen Bough, Picked Raspberry, Fossilized Amber, clear stickles, pop dots, small glue dots, and flower petal kit.  With Shana on Saturday, 5/5 from 10am-3pm.  $20 + cost of shadow box one time (inquire at the store for that cost).

NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY MAKE-IT-TAKE-IT:  Stop in between 10am-4pm to make this stinkin’ cute little album.  Start-to-finish should take about 2 hours.  Please call the store at 970-613-1631 to reserve your time-slot between 10am-4pm.  Bring your basic kit with you.  With Julia on Saturday, 5/5.  $10

PRIMARY ELEMENTS MICA POWDERS TECHNIQUES:  Beautiful little powders glittering in a pot.  What happens when you open them and start playing?  Come find out!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Sunday, 5/6 from 12:30-2:30pm.   $15

EMBROIDERY ON PAPER:  If you haven’t tried this cool technique on paper yet, you are missing the boat!  Punch a design, stitch the pattern and create a card.  It’s easier than it looks!  Plus, it’s the perfect little surprise element to add texture to your cards or scrapbook pages.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Tuesday, 5/8 from 10am-Noon.  $12 

 

ALCOHOL INK TECHNIQUES:  Do you want some of these but have never used them?  Or maybe don't use them enough?  Attend this class and learn some amazing effects that you can create! Bring your basic kit to class. With Patsy on Thursday, 5/10 from 10-Noon.   $25

BLUE FERN SEASIDE ALBUM:  This album features a new paper collection from Blue Fern Studios and is literally full of great techniques and textures. Bring your basic kit to class.  With Pat on Saturday, 5/12 from 10am-4pm. $65

G45 JUNGLE POP-UP CARDS:  This fabulous class features two different and clever pop-up styles.  Included are easy to follow full written instructions along with loads of technique and more card ideas in this fun-filled class.  Don’t miss it!  Limit 10 students. REQUIRED MATERIALS:  Basic kit including bone folder, UHU glue stick and regular adhesive, Detail scissors, Vintage Photo Distress ink and blending tool, Scor-tape and matte medium or Distress Collage medium.  With Susan on Saturday, 5/12 from 10am-12:30pm. 2/$20

BLOCKS & TAGS:  Check the BLOG for this month’s class theme and details.  If you’ve never taken this class in the past and want to get the blocks, please alert the store when you register that you’ll need a set of blocks from the instructor.  There is an additional one-time cost for those of $15.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Grace on Thursday 5/17 from 6-8pm.  $15

DAPPER DUDES CARDS:  These Dapper Dude cards are perfect for any occasion for the guy in your life: birthdays, Father's Day, Grandparents Day, anniversary, or stash some cash in them.  You'll combine stamps, texture, and gorgeous cut outs to make these cards.  Add your own sentiment to personalize it even more.  You'll be astounded how easy it is to give these cards their dimension and pop. Bring your stamp platform to class if you have one and your basic kit.  Come in and touch these cards and sign up for this after-hours card class. With Shannon on Thursday, 5/17 from 6-8pm.  4/$12

ART IMPRESSIONS BIRDHOUSE WATERCOLOR: Have you struggled with watercoloring and just don’t know what to do??  Well, this is the perfect class for you!  With a few simple tips and tricks, Patsy will turn your frustration into pure FUN!!!  To sweeten the deal, a stamp set is INCLUDED!!  Bring your basic kit.  With Patsy on Friday 5/18 from 10am-12:30pm.   $20

TIM HOLTZ DAY!!!  OK all of you Timmy fans….THIS is going to be YOUR FAVORITE EVENT YET!!!  Yep – pretty much anything and everything we have from Tim Holtz will be either demoed, on sale, or available for the making & taking!  We have ordered so many of his NEW RELEASE items to have in the store on this day as well as some beloved favorites.  Many of the new tools and products will be demoed so there’ll be no question on how to use them once you get home with your new stash.  We are also offering a Card-Making session with 4 AWESOME cards designed by Denise Thomas to choose from for $2-$5 EACH (bring your basic kit!). Technique Tags will be available to you too for only $1/tag.  We have a ton of Prizes to give away to some lucky attendees, but you’ve gotta show up to get a ticket to qualify.  Don’t forget, we’ll be holding a HUGE Sale on ALL Tim Holtz products that day too!  Stay tuned for more details as the date approaches, but plan now to join us!!  Bring your basic kit to the Make & Takes on Saturday, 5/19 from 10:30am-3pm!! 

STAMP DR BOX CARD & CENTER STEP:  If you are in love with the Stamp Dr. dies like Julia is, you’ll LOVE this class! Come learn how to make two fabulous dimensional cards using the Center Step Card and Box Card with the Lattice and Flower Dies.   Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Sunday, 5/20 from 1-3pm.  $20

“CELEBRATE” LAWN FAWN CARDS:  4 super cute cards using lawn Fawn stamps and dies to celebrate birthdays, graduation and father’s day. Cards are interactive with shaker, slider and pop up elements. You won’t want to miss this!  Bring your basic kit to class. With Julia on Tuesday, 5/22 from 10:30am-2:30pm.  4/$20

DISTRESS OXIDE INK TECHNIQUES: Learn several techniques using distress oxide inks. These inks are incredible, a fusion of pigment ink and distress ink, unlike any other ink you have used. We will create tags for your easy reference. Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Wednesday, 5/23 from 2-4pm.  $20

STAMPERIA WHIMSY CARDS: “Creativity is the greatest expression of liberty.”  This beautiful paper by Stamperia makes stunning cards with whimsies of butterflies, fairies, dragonflies, and unicorns.  If you are someone who doesn’t enjoy fussy-cutting, these cards can be made without the 3-D effect.  These cards are just too pretty to pass up.  Join the class and enjoy.  Bring your basic kit to class. With Marsha on Friday, 5/25 from 12:30-3pm.  4/$18

 

“BYOF” BIRDCAGE COLLAGE: “Bring You Own Frame” for this fabulous Collage - an 8x10 size is a perfect fit.  This class will certainly please your dimensional side as you discover all kinds of creativity, textures, and doodahs. Bring your basic kit to class. With Patsy on Saturday, 5/26 from 10am-1pm.  $20

SPRING LAWN FAWN CARDS:  Celebrate spring occasions with Lawn Fawn. Create these adorable spring cards using Lawn Fawn’s latest releases, including a pivot pop-up card. They are all just so cute. You won’t want to miss this!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Saturday, 5/26 from 10:30am-3pm.  4/$20  Limit 6

MYLAR FLOWER CARDS: These colorful, easy-peasy cards are perfect to keep on hand for those last-minute needs! Bring your basic kit to class. With Patsy on Thursday, 5/31 from 10:30am-12:30pm.  6/$10

CLASS POLICIES

***Classes start promptly at the time listed.  Please have your lovely buns in the seat and be ready to go!    Showing up late is very disruptive to the class that is already in progress.  Plan ahead for traffic or other things that might slow you down! 

If you are more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to get into another class.  If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will forfeit your class fee. 

Classes must be paid for at the time of registration.  You are not considered registered unless a class is paid for which could affect your seat in those classes with student limits.  You may pay with cash, check or use a credit card with a $2 handling fee.  You may register over the phone and mail in a check or give us a credit card number. 

We also assume you're taking a class to enjoy a break for a few hours and learn some cool stuff without interruptions.  That said, we will now begin each class by asking you to turn off your cell phones or silence them during class.  This will enhance everyone's learnin' and enjoyment of the class at hand.
