April Classes!

Oh My Goodness it's HERE!!  Finally!!  Happy Happy Spring!!  We couldn't be more thrilled to celebrate Spring and can't help ourselves but share the excitement with some fabulous classes in April.  We've got a 2nd Demo Day lined up on April 8th which you won't want to miss.  Absolutely incredible demos by very talented gals with lots of new products!  Plan now to attend that.  PLUS, grab a few friends and get registered for several of these awesome classes in April.  You can call the store at 970-613-1631 to register or visit in person to get signed up.  You won't be disappointed and it's sure to help you usher Springtime in with a smile!  Remember, you get a 10% Discount on your regular price purchases on the day of class too!  See you soon at Artsy!
 
MINI BOOK CLUB – EASTER:  Join Shana for the April mini book of the month club and create an adorable “hoppy” Easter book!  Bring your basic kit to class AND these Distress Ink colors with you – Broken China, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Peeled Paint and Wild Honey, along with your Wink of Stella Clear pen. With Shana on Saturday, 4/1 from 10am-4pm    $35
 
DISTRESS INK TECHNIQUES:  Learn some basic and not so basic things to do with these amazing inks!  Bring your basic kit to class. With Patsy on Saturday, 4/1 from 10:30am-12:30pm   $25
HOPPY EASTER POP-UP BOX CARD:  We can celebrate Easter AND Spring with this special Hoppy Easter box card.   Join Diane to create your favorite spring flower garden and we'll add a special Easter bunny to complete the garden. Bring your basic kit to class.  With Diane on Saturday, 4/1 from 1-3pm.  $10

NORTHWOODS EASTER CARD:  This Easter-themed Northwoods card will surely bring Spring to you heart!  Bring your basic kit to class. With Marsha on Sunday 4/2 from 12:15-3:15pm OR on Friday, 4/7 from            2-5pm.   $8 (LIMIT OF 6)
TECHNIQUE TUESDAY:  A lot of you must have been missing this because we keep getting requests to bring it back.  Okay - it's back!  Stop in anytime on Tuesdays to learn something new to use on cards or books or page layouts. 4/4, 11, 18, 25.
TEA BAG CLUB – TULIP FOLD:  The fold for April is the Tulip fold. We will make four Spring note cards using square tiles to make our Tulips, and leaves.  This is a very easy fold, making this class a lot of fun. Please bring single-side Scotch tape to use along with your basic kit to class.  With Donna on Tuesday, 4/4 from    1-3pm.  $10.
 
 
NORTHWOODS WOODPECKER CARD:  This adorable woodpecker is from the Northwood’s Stamps Spring Bird collection.  The promise of spring is in the air.  The faux water coloring techniques you will learn in the class can be applied to any of the birds in the collection.  Bring your basic kit to class. With Marsha on Wednesday 4/5 from 10am-1pm OR on Saturday, 4/15 from 10am-1pm.  $8 (LIMIT OF 6)
QUILLED FLOWER BOX:   Quilling is relaxing! For those who think it is a lot of work and hard….think again.  It’s only paper!  Roll it, twist it, curl it, glue it.  That’s all it is.  Join in to rejuvenate the art of quilling.  Nancy loves old and new quillers!  Bring your basic kit to class along with your quilling tools.  If you don’t have those, sets are available for purchase at the store.  With Nancy on Thursday, 4/6 from 1-3pm.  $9
BLOCKS AND TAGS “EASTER”:  After having several requests, Grace will be offering two sets of the Easter tags again.  The one class will feature both kits - EACH kit will cost $15 and you can register to receive both that night if you’d like ($30 total).  Please specify one or both kits when you register, with Grace on Thursday 4/6 from 6-8pm.  $15/set: 
·  “HE is Risen” Tags - Imagine an Easter sunrise, with all its glorious colors.  This is what we will create with Distress inks.  The colors will be Broken China, Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey, Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint and Walnut.  Please bring these colors with you and I also recommend bringing both purple and brown fine tip markers along with your basic kit to class.
 
 

·  “EASTER” Tags - Colorful Easter eggs, hopping bunnies and fluttering butterflies surround a beautiful cross for your special display.  Please try to bring the following to class:  Distress inks, Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey, Faded Jeans, Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo.  Also bring your Glossy Accents (unless you choose to do that at home), your clear Wink of Stella, Flamingo Pink Stickles, foam squares and your basic kit.
·   If you need a set of wooden blocks, please let Artsy know in advance and they will be provided for $15 per set.  Note: the larger 6x6 block is an add-on piece and is $3 extra.  Bring your basic kit to class. With Grace on Thursday, 4/6 from 6-8pm   $15 per tag set/theme
DEMO DAY #2!!!  The first one was so amazing we have to do it again!  It will be happening all day so stop in any time!  Look at WHO and WHAT we have lined up for you:
·         Michelle from CAS-ual Fridays will be here with her unique stamps and dies.  If you haven't been in lately, you've missed seeing these little wonders.  We sold out of several of the items as soon as they arrived and just got more in.  Great fonts and messages on the stamps.  The dies cut well and coordinate with many of the stamps.  Michelle will have some ideas for you to try and a Make-It-Take-It.  You’ll fall in love with this local company like we did!!
 
·         Caron will be here with the newest Tonic products and Hero Arts items.  Tonic is home to the wondrous NUVO products that we all like so much. Caron is going to be showing you all the NEW colors of mousse and drops and will focus on different ways to use the products.  She also will demonstrate spritzing, using stencils, backgrounds.  CRAZY FUN!!   Not to mention that Hero Arts has the best layering stamps available right now!  Come check out all of their new releases!
 
·         Julia is looking forward to showing you some of the newest cool tools that have recently arrived at Artsy.  Many are from WR Memory Keepers – including the new tab punch board which is in stock!  You all know that whatever she will demo that day, it will be super cool!  Just like Julia!!


·         Mechelle with The Stamp Doctor will be back with her exclusive stamps and dies.  She is always full of information, ideas, techniques and fun!  If you still haven’t seen her in action with these amazing products, plan now to stop by – you’ll wonder how you’ve managed this long without them!
 
 SISTERHOOD JOURNALING – FUN WITH THE ALPHABET A-Z:  This month holds the last of the six Sunday sessions from 12:30 - 3p with Cherri:
·         April 9 … UVWXYZ
This returning ALTERED ART journaling group resumed on January 29, 2017 and wraps up on April 9, 2017. Please speak to the instructor directly if you’re interested in learning more about possible future classes planned for this group.
Cherri Robb mentors this lively group where students create their own unique designs, and use their own color choices and paper along with personal embellishments. Techniques will be taught each week and Cherri provides individualized design assistance for each student. Fun and sharing will be enjoyed by all, along with lots of show-and-tell!  Please stop by the store to read detailed information and learn about upcoming sessions being planned.
 

IRIS FOLD DRESS:  A request was made to Artsy to bring back the dress classes, so that’s what we’re doing!  Join Donna and learn this Iris folding technique with ribbons to create this awesome dress.  Perfect for cards or scrapbooks.  It’s such a fun class!  You will need to bring single-side Scotch tape to use along with your basic kit to class.  With Donna on Tuesday, 4/11 from 1-3pm.  $6
CSU CARD GROUP:  This card making group from CSU has decided to call Artsy home to its monthly gathering.  They are a lovely group that is open to any of Artsy’s customers that wish to join them. They will be meeting at our store on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.  They create handmade cards to sell at various venues throughout the year.  The funds go towards scholarships for non-traditional students.  If you want to create but have enough cards lying around, consider joining this group or donating finished cards to them.  What a great cause!  Wednesday, 4/12 from 10:30am – 12:30pm.  FREE, but bring your basic kit.
PEDAL POWERED (BIKE) CARDS:  Patsy is doing some fun bike cards even though she can't ride a bike!  They are fun and great for guys or girls.  You can make cards and get some pretend to get some exercise at the same time.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Saturday, 4/15 from 10:30am-1pm      3/$12
G45 CAFÉ PARISIAN CARD BOX AND CARDS:  We will be constructing a card box and 5 cards using G45 Cafe Parisian paper collection. This paper has a dessert theme with beautiful blues and peaches, just yummy.  Bring your basic kit to class. With Julia on Saturday 4/15 from 1-4:30pm.  $35
LOVE CLIPPINGS CARDS:  These beautiful pink and gold cards are made with Prima Marketing’s “Love Clippings Collection”.  Bows and glitter add a special touch of elegance.  They can be used for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and Mother’s Day.  Just add your favorite sayings!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Marsha on Wednesday 4/19 from 10am-1pm OR on Saturday, 4/29 from 10am-1pm.  4/$18
PROJECT CROP!!  Plan now and get registered to crop ‘til you drop for this one evening event.  This is open to anyone who wants some fun and focused time to work on their own specific papercrafting project whether it be cards or scrapbooking.  It will be like playtime on steroids ‘cuz dinner is included and you can use many of the items in the Artsy classroom – like the Bigshot, stamps, and other tools.  Space is LIMITED to only 11 people so get registered soon!  With Julia on Friday, 4/21 from 5pm-Midnight.  $15

DESTINY ALBUM:  Features a beautiful new paper collection from Prima Marketing.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Denise on Friday 4/21 from 6-8:30pm (Part 1) AND on Saturday 4/22 from 9am-4:30pm (Part 2).  $75
GILDED CARDS:  Caron is so excited to teach this fun class featuring Tonic’s Gilding Flakes!   Call her crazy but she is going to bring all of her colors of NUVO Mousse - 24 colors total!!!  She will also have the 3 colors of Gilding Flakes to choose from so you can create your own touch for your cards.  The background and butterfly have been changed from a plain piece of white cardstock to these beautiful colors using NUVO Mousse.  Students can pick their own colors (she won't be offended) or repeat the colors Caron has used.  You'll even use the NUVO Crystal Drops. This class is filled with beautiful Gilding Flakes and Mousse techniques. Bring your basic kit to class which should include these supplies as requested by the instructor:  Nuvo Glue Pen - large (works best) or medium. Scissors, wet and dry adhesives. With Caron on Saturday, 4/22 from 10:30am to 1pm.    
 
LAYERS OF COLOR CLUB – ROOSTERS CARDS: This month's stamp choice is the Hero Arts Rooster set. Julia says when she first saw this set she thought, "No, I don't need this set." However after playing with it, it is now a must have!! She knows you will absolutely love it too. Class fee includes the full stamp set.  You will need to bring a stamp positioning tool for class (these are available for purchase at the store if you don’t have one). With Julia on Saturday 4/22 from 2-4pm.  $24 – includes stamp set
49TH & MARKET STAR BOOK:  This five signature book features the new 49th & Market Street papers and a little paper engineering magic. Paper sizes and basic written instructions will be provided. Nine quotes will also be provided, or embellish and add your own design later.  There is a “bring to class list” available at the store when you sign up for the class.  But we have listed the items here below as well: 
 
·         Basic Tool Box including Skor board, White tacky glue, 3/8 inch SKOR tape, UHU glue stick
·         Paper piercer & hard mat for underneath
·         Milled lavender & brushed corduroy distress ink pads with blending tools (may substitute tattered rose and favorite brown)

EMBROIDERY ON PAPER:  If you haven’t tried this cool technique on paper yet, you are missing the boat!  Punch a design, stitch the pattern and create a card.  It’s easier than it looks!  Plus, it’s the perfect little surprise element to add texture to your cards or scrapbook pages.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Wednesday, 4/26 from 6-8pm.  $12
ALCOHOL INK TECHNIQUES:  Do you want some of these but have never used them?  Or maybe don't use them enough?  Attend this class and learn some amazing effects that you can create! Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Thursday, 4/27 from 10:30am-12:30pm   $25
G45 3D OFF TO THE RACES:  For all you Equestrian lovers…this one’s for you.  Julia is famous for this class and has quite a following! It’s a stunning technique that you’ll enjoy learning and utilizing for a long time.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Saturday, 4/29 from 2-4pm.  $12 (or $8 for repeaters)
G45 ATC BOX & MINI BOOK:  This ATC box is made with Graphic 45’s newest papers, Portrait of a Lady.  It’s simply stunning with its vintage theme.  PLUS, it comes with a mini album inside!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Denise on Sunday 4/30 from 12:15-3:30pm.  $20
CLASS POLICIES
***Classes start promptly at the time listed.  Please have your lovely buns in the seat and be ready to go!    Showing up late is very disruptive to the class that is already in progress.  Plan ahead for traffic or other things that might slow you down! 
If you are more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to get into another class.  If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will forfeit your class fee. 
Classes must be paid for at the time of registration.  You are not considered registered unless a class is paid for which could affect your seat in those classes with student limits.  You may pay with cash, check or use a credit card with a $2 handling fee.  You may register over the phone and mail in a check or give us a credit card number. 
We also assume you're taking a class to enjoy a break for a few hours and learn some cool stuff without interruptions.  That said, we will now begin each class by asking you to turn off your cell phones or silence them during class.  This will enhance everyone's learnin' and enjoyment of the class at hand.
