March Classes 2020



ARTSY’S MARCH CLASS DESCRIPTIONS 
Remember, you receive a 10% Discount on your Entire Regular-Price Purchase day of class!! 

PLAY DAYS AT ARTSY:  Whaaaat????? FREE play days in your Happy Place? YEP!!  True story.   We’ve opened up our classroom tables on certain days so you really spread out and work on that “UFO” (UnFinished Object).  OR, if you wanna acquire some new toys at Artsy and then break into them immediately and be creative, then this time is for you!  Bring a friend or two and play in the Artsy Classroom.  Play Days have caught on in the last few months so plan now to come in on one or all FOUR dates in March.  Bring your basic kit with you as supplies are not included, but you can purchase anything while you’re there – that’s also one of the best perks about play days at Artsy.  Friday 3/6, Tuesday 3/10, Thursday 3/19, and Wednesday 3/25 from 10am-4:45pm each day.  FREE!  No reservations necessary, just bring your stuff and settle in for the day.


LITTLE SISTERS ART JOURNALING (PARTS 4 & 5 OF 5):  Little Sisters is an ongoing class scheduled on Saturdays from 10am-1pm on 5 dates, Jan 25, Feb 8, Feb 22, Mar 7, Mar 21 and is not recommended for beginners, and a previous class with Cherri or art journaling experience is required.  There are five sessions and all supplies included in the price.  This year's project "Steampunk in a Box" featuring Steampunk paper by Stamperia.  There are three 7x5" art boards, a decorated Graphic 45 box, and an accordion style journal with six pages front and back.  The journal page fronts feature 3-D style cut-outs, and the backs include a collage with an inspirational quote.  The first two sessions will color/collage the box and create art boards.  The second two sessions are dedicated to the journal pages, strung together with a ribbon.  The last sessions is for finishing the project.  No homework this year.  Students can follow the sample design or use the supplies for their own creation.  Groups always share a friendship of laughter and warmth.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Cherri on Saturday, 3/7 and 3/21 from 10am-1pm.  $80/5 sessions.  Contact the instructor directly if you have any questions or interest in attending this type of class.


ALCOHOL INK 11x14 SEASCAPE – BEACH TURTLE:  Prerequisite:  Level 1 Alcohol Ink class.  All supplies provided except frame.  We will have a half hour lunch so you may want to bring a bag lunch.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Randy & Teresa Redmond-Ott on Saturday, 3/7 from 10:30am – 3:30pm.  $50


SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING SCRAP JOURNAL (PARTS 4 & 5 OF 5):  Sisterhood is an ongoing closed group.  Please contact Cherri directly regarding this class, most have already signed up. LAWN FAWN SPRING CARDS:  Join Julia for these fun spring-themed pop-up box card, magic picture changer and a shaker card.  You’ll fall in love all over again with this adorable line! Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Thursday, 3/12 from 10:30am-1:30pm.  $24


ALL DAY CROP!:  Join Patsy and the crew for some exclusive creative time where you can tap into their idea pool to get some helpful tips and tricks with your unfinished projects. You bring your project supplies and basic kit and they will provide the space - plus a lot of giggles!  A delicious Lunch is also included in this All Day Crop event.  Advanced Registration is required to plan for the lunch and to allow for ample table space.  With Patsy and the crew on Saturday 3/14 from 10am-5pm.  $15 includes lunch.


BIRTHDAY CARDS:  Come and learn a couple of new tricks and become reacquainted with a few tried-and-true techniques.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Denise on Sunday, 3/15 from 1-3pm.  $16


OLD WORLD CARDS:  Blue Fern Studio’s Eclectic Charm collection is a combination of olde world luxury and jewel tones.  These cards will blend those 2! Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Wednesday, 3/18 from 1-3pm.  $15


ENVELOPE CARDS:  Now here’s an unusual card  you likely have not seen before!  Two delightful all-in-one envelope cards are featured in this class.  Opening the envelope reveals an amazing pop-up surprise inside! REQUIRED SUPPLIES:  Basic kit including Exacto knife and mat.  Also bring colored pencils in Mahogony Red, a Yellow, Navy Blue, Silver and Brown and Distress Ink in Peeled Paint, Aged Mahogany, Vintage Photo and Gathered Twigs if you have them.  With Susan M on Saturday, 3/21 from 10:30am-1pm.  2/$22


POTTED FLOWERS 8x10 – Think Spring or Mother’s Day.  What a perfect gift opportunity, too!  All supplies provided – including the frame.   We will have a ½-hour lunch break so you may want to bring a bag lunch.  Bring your Basic Kit to class.  With Teresa on Saturday, 3/28 from 10:30am-3:30pm.  $45


OZ ALBUM (PART 1 OF 2):  Grace is continuing her Wizard of Oz themed fun with this album class featuring the vintage paper collection from Graphic 45.  Students who took her City of Oz structure class last month will enjoy this class to create the small album which was included in that price.  If you didn’t’ take that class, you’ll be paying for this class…but we promise it’s worth it!  With its popularity being quite high, the class was already full prior to publishing this.  However, if you’re a Wizard of Oz geek and really want to take this class, please contact the store right away to express your interest in being on a waiting list. Bring your basic kit to class.  With Grace on Saturday, 3/28 from 9am – 4pm.  $75.  Part 2 will be held on Saturday, 4/4.  


STAMPERIA TRAIN 3D:  Back by popular demand!  Join Julia in this fun 3D class using this awesome paper line by Stamperia.  Fussy cutting is kind of a requirement with these, but the results are sooooo worth it!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Sunday, 3/29 from Noon-3pm.  $18





 CLASS POLICIES

***Classes start promptly at the time listed.  Please have your lovely buns in the seat and be ready to go!    Showing up late is very disruptive to the class that is already in progress.  Plan ahead for traffic or other things that might slow you down!  

If you are more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to get into another class.  If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will forfeit your class fee. 
Classes must be paid for at the time of registration.  You are not considered registered unless a class is paid for which could affect your seat in those classes with student limits.  You may pay with cash, check or use a credit card with a $2 handling fee.  You may register over the phone and mail in a check or give us a credit card number.  

We also assume you're taking a class to enjoy a break for a few hours and learn some cool stuff without interruptions.  That said, we will now begin each class by asking you to turn off your cell phones or silence them during class.  This will enhance everyone's learnin' and enjoyment of the class at hand.

ARTSY’S FEBRUARY CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

TRIPLE EASEL HEART CARDS:  Looking for a Valentine card to give to someone special?  Look no further!  Susan will help you create 2 cards in this fun class and offer instruction on making them with and without dies.  Also explored will be single easel cards - lots of samples!  Required Supplies:  Basic kit, including wet adhesive and good scissors.  With Susan M on Saturday, 2/1 from 10:30am-1pm. $22  Limit 6. 


VALENTINE’S DAY CARDS:   This is a great techniques class and you’ll have such fun creating these Valentine’s cards.  Bring your basic kit.  With Teresa Redmond-Ott on Saturday, 2/1 from Noon-4pm.  $28

LAWN FAWN VALENTINES CARDS:  This month is Valentine themed, of course. We will be using stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn's latest release. Cards include a reveal wheel and a new die from Karen Burniston. these cards are sure to impress your loved ones. Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Wednesday, 2/5 from 10:30am-1:30pm.  $24


MAGNETIC SHADOW BOX - FEBRUARY:  This class focuses on the season of love with romantic shades of pinks and blues!  Please bring your basic tool kit, pop-dots and glue dots along. Patsy has magnetic shadow boxes available at an additional cost if this is your first seasonal shadow box class. With Marsha on Thrusday, 2/6 from 12:30-3:30pm.  $22 (+ cost of shadowbox if needed).

DISTRESS OXIDE SPRAY CARDS: This class is for you if  A: you want to buy the oxide sprays but want to try them first. B: you already own the sprays but don't know what to do with them. C: you just love the cards. This class is going to be a lot of messy fun and was inspired by Jennifer McGuire. You will make at least 3 cards, more cards if time permits.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Wednesday, 2/19 from 10:30am -12:30pm.  $18





PRIMA WAXES CARD & NOTEBOOK:  Learn how to use the prima waxes. These waxes give your project a gorgeous metallic look. We will use the waxes on a card and a mini composition notebook.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Thursday, 2/20 from 10:30am – 12:30pm.  $18



BRUSHO BACKGROUNDS:  Brusho Crystal Colours are amazingly versatile watercolor ink crystals that can be used in a myriad of different ways. Incredibly vivid, vibrant, and brilliant, they open up a world of possibilities!  Learn how to create beautiful Brusho backgrounds in the first part of class. Then pick a stamp to complement your background and make a fabulous card.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Sue N on Friday, 2/21 from 10:30am - 12:30pm.  4/$18



ART IMPRESSIONS “WATERCOLOR” BASICS:  Use stamps and markers to create beautiful watercolor looking cards.  With a few simple tips and tricks, Patsy will turn your frustration with watercolor imagery into pure FUN!!!  To sweeten the deal, a stamp set is INCLUDED!!  Bring your basic kit.  With Patsy on Wednesday 2/26 from 1-3pm.  $23 



SPRAY, BAKE & FOIL CARDS:  Spray it, heat it, foil it.  It’s that simple.  Seriously. This class will open up some amazing possibilities while having so much fun.  What wonderful looks!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Sue N on Friday, 2/28 from 10:30am - 12:30pm.  4/$22



MIXED MEDIA MASTERPIECES: Are you interested in learning how to make a mixed media canvas?  Julia is cleaning out her crafty hoard and bringing it to class. You choose the size canvas you would like to make, and Julia will teach you how to put it together. Things to bring class would be any personalized items that you would like to add to your canvas, such as charms, doodahs and/or a special photo that you may want to add to your masterpiece. Bring Beacon 3 in 1 glue or Zip Dry glue to class, all other supplies will be provided. Don’t have that? No worries, she will have plenty for you to choose from. This is an all-day class, the size canvas you choose will determine how long it takes to create.  Canvas sizes available: 8x10 $30, 12x12 $35, 11x14 $40, 8x20 $45.  Please indicate which size you would like when registering for the class.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Saturday, 2/29 from 10am-4pm.    $35-$50, depending on the canvas size



GATEFOLD CARDS – THINK SPRING!:  Techniques class designed to create this fun style of card.  Bring your Basic Kit to class.  With Teresa on Saturday, 2/29 from Noon-3pm.  $18

Janauary 2020



ARTSY’S JANUARY CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

NEW YEAR'S DAY $1 CARDS:   This was always such a popular event, so we are bringing it back to kick off 2020! The store would normally be closed on this holiday, but we’re opening up from Noon-3pm for all your shopping needs AND for Dollar Card Day! Call the store in advance to sign up for your favorite time slot – several will be available to help us stage the demand.   It’s a great time to catch up on making a few cards to have on hand for those last-minute needs. We will have 5 or 6 beautiful and awesome designs to create!  Bring your basic kit with you as adhesives, etc are not supplied. With Patsy on Wednesday, 1/1 from Noon-3pm.  Only $1 per card made.

MIDNIGHT GARDEN ALBUM:  It’s been a while since Denise has brought an album class to Artsy so we know it will fill up fast!  Create this beautiful photo album in this 2-part class that will leave you with the perfect gift for an upcoming occasion or something that you can enjoy for yourself!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Denise on Friday, 1/3 from 5-9pm AND Saturday, 1/4 from 9am-5pm.  $75

LAWN FAWN WINTER CARDS:  These Winter cards will surely NOT disappoint. You will learn how to use the Flippin’ Awesome die and some of the NEW Lawn Fawn release.  Julia is still waiting for the new Lawn Fawn items for this class to arrive so stay tuned and check the Blog again soon for that photo to be added to description.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Wednesday, 1/8 from 10:30m-2pm.  $24

ART IMPRESSIONS GREETING CARDS:  Come create a set of 3 beautiful watercolor-looking wreaths using Tombow markers and various Art Impressions’ unique floral stamps.  From blank page to end result, you’ll make these cards and learn the technique to make more at home.  Various sentiments will be available to suit your card giving needs.  (Imagine gifting a card set of these beauties!) Bring your basic kit. All other supplies provided.  With Teresa Redmond-Ott on Thursday, 1/9 from 11:30am-2:30pm.  3/$27

EMBROIDERY ON PAPER:  If you haven’t tried this cool technique on paper yet, you are missing the boat!  Punch a design, stitch the pattern and create a card.  It’s easier than it looks!  Plus, it’s the perfect little surprise element to add texture to your cards or scrapbook pages.  This month’s class will get you started on that extra special Valentine’s Day card!  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Wednesday, 1/15 from 10am-Noon.  $8


BLACK & WHITE CARDS:  Basic black and white work for every occasion. You’ll make 5 cards and take home lots of body parts to create more! Touches of color will make your cards pop.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Patsy on Thursday, 11/21 from 10:30am-Noon.  $10




MAGNETIC SHADOW BOX - WINTER:  This class focuses on a beautiful winter theme with gorgeous blues and snowy whites!  Please bring your basic tool kit, pop-dots and glue dots along. Patsy has magnetic shadow boxes available at an additional cost if this is your first seasonal shadow box class. With Marsha on Friday, 1/17 from 12:30-3:30pm.  $22 (+ cost of shadowbox if needed). 


GEL PLATE PARTY:  Using a Gel Plate is a really fun addicting method of print making. Every print is unique. The first half of class you will learn to make prints, try different types of paper and methods of printing, including a packing tape transfer. The second half of class we will make some cards using the prints you just made. This class is great fun for beginners or experienced printmakers. Class requires you to bring a gel plate and brayer with you as well as your basic kit.  All other supplies are provided.  With Julia on Saturday, 1/18 from 11am-2pm.  $25


ELIZABETH CRAFT CRITTER CARDS:  These critters are SO cute you will have to have them all, just like Julia! In this class you will get to pick 3 critters to make. Lions, tigers and bears, oh my! Dog or cat or even a parrot. Prefer elephant, monkey or giraffe?? Well, you get to choose 3 of your favorites.  Bring your basic kit to class.  With Julia on Wednesday, 1/22 from 10:30m-2pm.  3/$24


EMERALD CITY “BOX”:  Grace’s creativity never ceases to amaze us and we know you’ll be blown away by this one too!  For all of you Wizard of Oz fans, get registered for this one.  Its structural design is unique and certainly gets you thinking of the majestic Emerald City.  It will actually house 2 coordinating mini albums that will be offered in a separate class most likely in February.   Bring your basic kit to class. With Grace on Saturday, 1/25 from 9am-4pm.  $50 (structure only)

This class is scheduled on Sundays from Noon-3pm on 5 dates, Jan 26, Feb 9, Feb 23, Mar 8, Mar 22.  This year's project "Steampunk in a Box" featuring Steampunk paper by Stamperia.  There are three 7x5" art boards, a decorated Graphic 45 box, and an accordion style journal with six pages front and back.  The journal page fronts feature 3-D style cut-outs, and the backs include a collage with an inspirational quote.  The first two sessions will color/collage the box and create art boards.  The second two sessions are dedicated to the journal pages, strung together with a ribbon.  The last sessions is for finishing the project.  No homework this year.  Students can follow the sample design or use the supplies for their own creation.  Groups always share a friendship of laughter and warmth.  All supplies are included, however bring your basic kit to class.  With Cherri on Sunday, 1/26 from Noon-3pm.  $80/5 sessions.


PAINT WITH US USING ALCOHOL INKS!:  Stop by Artsy to see this 5”x7” Colorado scenic painting and sign up to paint it for yourself.  Artist/ Instructors Randy & Teresa Redmond-Ott will guide you in this fun, informative and creative process.  A working knowledge of alcohol inks is extremely helpful but not a requirement for this class.  Each student’s piece will be a unique expression of themselves. All supplies provided.  Frame not included. With Teresa and Randy Redmond-Ott on Saturday, 1/25 from 1:30-3:30pm.  $40


DISTRESS INK TECHNIQUES:  Distress Ink techniques for beginners or other fun people. Hehehe!!  Learn some basic and not so basic things to do with these amazing inks!  Bring your basic kit to class. With Patsy on Thursday, 1/30 from 10am-Noon.   $40



 CLASS POLICIES
***Classes start promptly at the time listed.  Please have your lovely buns in the seat and be ready to go!    

Showing up late is very disruptive to the class that is already in progress.  Plan ahead for traffic or other things that might slow you down!  If you are more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to get into another class.  If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will forfeit your class fee.  

Classes must be paid for at the time of registration.  You are not considered registered unless a class is paid for which could affect your seat in those classes with student limits.  You may pay with cash, check or use a ccard number. 

We also assume you're taking a class to enjoy a break for a few hours and learn some cool stuff without interruptions.  That said, we will now begin each class by asking you to turn off your cell phones or silence them during class.  This will enhance everyone's learnin' and enjoyment of the class at hand.
